This configuration has been put through the paces and remains widely popular among avid anglers, commercial fishermen, and well respected charter captains. Whether you are deep-dropping for bottom dwellers, dredge pulling for billfish, or out daytime Swordfishing, this Hooker Electric Tiagra 80WA is the reel for the job.Fitted with Hooker Electric’s powerful 2HP brushless 12/24VDC motor, autostop enabled line counter, and custom level wind, this supercharged Tiagra is up to any challenge. While being fully automated, the reel handle is still retained, allowing for a full manual fight in low gear. The motor features full variable speed control and a wireless 2-speed remote (Button (A) for half speed and button (B) for full speed). The unit is capable of retrieving 500 feet per minute at full speed with an estimated 50 lbs of drag. The addition of Bluetooth connectivity means that now you can see your line counter, RPMs and control the speed from your iPhone or iPad. This function requires Hooker Electric’s “Reel Time” app available at the Apple App Store.
